From the Classroom
Whoops-A-Daisy Nativity
All of the staff in Rainbow class are incredibly proud of the children for their hard work and effort with the Nativity. They were focused and determined to keep going even when we practised without our main characters! Thank you so much to parents for providing the beautiful costumes and we hope you enjoyed our 'Whoops-A-Daisy' Nativity.
Elfridges!
Rainbow class had a great time on their visit to Elfridges! They were very excited to pick out presents for their families and watch them get wrapped up.
Winter
This week Rainbow's have been learning more about the seasons and we have been focusing on winter. We have talked about why it is important to dress in warm clothes in winter and to spot the signs of winter. We have even made our own winter landscape artwork using a range of media including chalk pastels, tissue paper, cotton wool and paint.
Making dinosaurs!
Over the next couple of weeks Rainbow class are focussing their learning on dinosaurs. So far we have learnt about the different names for dinosaurs, new words such as carnivore, herbivore and omnivore and we have even had a go at making them using recycled materials. A huge thank you to all the parents who bought in recycled materials for the children to use.
Skittles Experiment!
In Science this week we tested skittles in cold water, hot water and milk. We looked at which experiment was quicker or slower and we found that water reacted quicker than milk. We used new vocabulary such as melting, dissolved and experiment. We even made our own predictions and had a colour race to see which colour was the fastest.
Our first time at Forest School
This week Rainbows have had their first Forest School session. They went around the school exploring the environment, including a secret garden mystery tour , a run around on the field and a sorting activity of man-made and natural materials in the outdoor classroom.
