Term 3 Al Sylvester

To kick off our English and Geography topics for the term, we were delighted to have explorer Al Sylvester join us for a virtual visit. Al shared his stories and photos from adventures to the South Pole and the Himalayas with Blue Class, where we learnt about resilience, the equipment and training required and had the chance to ask some of our own questions. Thank you to Al for spending the day with us!

Term 3 Lindsay Galvin

Some of Blue Class visited nearby Saint Ronan's School to join them for their visit from author Lindsay Galvin. Lindsay discussed the inspiration and research for her growing catalogue of books based on historical events. The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and had some fantastic questions for Lindsay. With thanks to Mrs Beales, we now have a new set of Lindsay Galvin books to read at school, which we are sure will inspire some of our own avid writers!

Term 3 Neil Ashton

Blue Class have been working with local artist Neil Ashton to create lino prints of buildings of historical significance along Hawkhurst high street. This is part of a wider project with The Amelia Scott in Tunbridge Wells. They have made so much progress in using the tools to cut intricate details and we are very proud of their determination and creativity!
