Welcome
Welcome to Hawkhurst Church of England Primary School
We are very proud of our school and our team of dedicated and passionate staff who work together to provide a safe and stimulating environment for all of our children. We work hard to ensure that we are an all inclusive community where parents and visitors feel welcome and where our children can thrive.
Our Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. Children are taught to value themselves and others and to aspire to achieve their very best. We work as a team to ensure our children are challenged through a fun and engaging curriculum and that learning is broad and balanced.
Hawkhurst Church of England Primary School has close links with St Laurence Church. We have three core Christian values, each with an associated Bible story. In school we aim to uphold these values in all that we do. Children are reminded of the meaning of the values and how they are linked to living a good Christian life.
Core Values
In June 2021 we adopted our new values : –
-
Compassion: This fits so well with our Emotional Wellbeing Pathway, with our restorative approach to behaviour and everything we endeavour to do in school. Children are taught to be kind and to each other and to celebrate differences.
-
Hope: This ties in with our vision of “Extending Horizons”. Children are encouraged to aim high and to always strive to do their best.
-
Community: We have worked hard over the last few years to make our school a real part of the local community and for parents to feel part of the school too, for example our Family Breakfasts, the Community Breakfast during lockdown, Food for Families and the work we are now doing with the Hands of Hope Community Garden.
You can find much information on the school website but we would also welcome visits to come and see our lovely school. Please telephone the office to make an appointment
