Term 1 

Maths 

The children have been working exceptionally hard in maths to develop their understanding of place value. We've used place value counters to represent and partition numbers to 10,000. Some children even shared how much they enjoyed maths after our flexible partitioning lesson!

DT

The children have been busy designing and making their own board games, inspired by their favourites. We have seen creative versions of  Hungry Hippos and snakes and ladders. The children were very keen to bring their ideas to life and had fun sharing and playing their games afterwards. 

Science

This term we have been learning about living things and their habitats. We have spent lots of time discussing the different animal groups and what types of plants and animals can be found in our local area. We used our findings to classify these plants and animals in several different ways. We even drew our own classification keys! 

Geography

Green class have thoroughly enjoyed learning about rivers. We have investigated different rivers around the world, what the key features of a river are and how humans and rivers can impact each other. We have spent lots of time using atlases and google maps to compare different rivers in our local area.
