Welcome to Violet Class – Year 6

Class Teacher :  Mrs Pearson

TA : Mrs Wayling

Welcome

Hello from Mrs Pearson

I joined Hawkhurst in 2019 as the new Year 5 teacher. I am really excited to be taking year 6 for the 2020/21 school year. I have taught for over 15 years – mostly in Year 5 – and love the challenge of the Upper Key Stage curriculum. Although I have taught this year group many times, no two days (or two years) are ever the same and I particularly enjoy finding new and creative ways to teach a given topic – even if that is the subjunctive form or modal verbs! I particularly enjoy teaching Maths, History, Art and Languages.

Outside of school I have my hands full with my own son, our big, hairy dog Molly (who hates walking and would prefer to snooze all day) and our cat Lily. We have recently moved into the area and have been spending most our weekends and evenings wallpaper stripping, painting and decorating. When the dog allows us to, I enjoy walks in the neighbouring countryside and running when I can.
