Class Teachers – Mr Cripps

TA : Mrs Hamer
Student Teacher : Miss Eastwood

Welcome

Hello from Mr Cripps

Hi, I’m Mr Cripps and I am really looking forward to teaching Year 4 this year. Believe it or not, this is my third spell at Hawkhurst Primary (!), spending a year as a teaching assistant before training and becoming a class teacher here in 2016. After a year travelling (what a year to choose), I am re-joining the team at Hawkhurst this year with three years teaching experience under my belt and a desire to see this class thrive in their learning.

Outside of school, I love sport, and spend much of my free time either participating in or watching sporting activities. I have recently taken up road cycling to a borderline fanatical degree, and have been exploring the Kentish countryside from Whitstable to Dungeness this summer on the saddle. When I’m not on my bike, I love to watch almost any sport that isn’t golf, and have a particular interest in football, cricket and Formula 1. Sports aside, I love to read or listen to audiobooks.

Hello from Miss Eastwood

Hi, I’m Miss Eastwood and I will be based in Green Class this year whilst I complete my teacher training. I am thrilled to be returning as I was once a pupil here and I also volunteered with Rainbow Class in 2019. As well as volunteering at Hawkhurst, I worked as a TA in another school last year which lockdown ensured was memorable. I am excited to get stuck in and build up my teaching time over the course of the year with fun and engaging lessons.

In my free time I enjoy baking and made an obscene amount of cakes over lockdown! Having studied at Bournemouth University and worked at a school in Bexhill last year, I love going to the seaside for some fresh air and irresistible fish and chips on the beach. I also love photography and have enjoyed discovering how creative Green Class is.

I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together in Green Class this year!
